About National Career Service Centre for Differently Abled (NCSCDA)

The National Career Service Centre for Differently Abled (NCSCDA) is a specialized initiative of the Government of India under the Ministry of Labour & Employment. It aims to enhance the employability of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) by providing comprehensive career-related services and facilitating their integration into the workforce.

NCSCDA offers career guidance, vocational training, skill development, and placement assistance tailored to the needs of differently abled individuals. The centres work closely with employers, training institutions, and NGOs to promote inclusive employment opportunities in both the public and private sectors.

Operating through a network of centres across the country and linked with the National Career Service (NCS) Portal, NCSCDA plays a vital role in empowering PwDs to achieve economic independence, dignity, and sustainable livelihoods.

NCSCDA

The National Career Service Centres for Differently Abled (previously called Vocational Rehabilitation Centres for the Handicapped) were started by the Government of India in 1968 with technical assistance from the USA. Over time, more centres were added, and today 24 such centres operate across India. These centres are run as subordinate offices of the Directorate General of Employment (DGE), Ministry of Labour & Employment

Provide vocational guidance and counselling tailored to different needs.
**Offer non-formal vocational training to those who cannot access regular formal training due to educational or disability barriers.
Extend placement support and help retain jobs.
